One day at a time

Today Mr. Blue Eyes is better than yesterday in most ways.  However, his bones are aching (side effect of the chemo.) Today so he is not as cheery, and his eyes are not as bright as usual. We are really learning to just take it one day at a time because to expect more or want more just becomes discouraging. I wish I could take away all his aches and pains.  Instead I support him through it, trying not to loose it. I remind him that he is going to make it through this. I tell him his body is healing. I remind him how awesome he is. I remind him he is not alone.

This was a note I got from my twin sister. I want Corban to remember the movement of love on his behalf....

Just wanted to send you what I wrote to my friends new and old...

My twin sister Angela's little boy Corban has been diagnosed with ALCL Lymphoma.  He is a gorgeous 9 year old boy who walks in a room and lights it up! I love his blue eyes. When he was born, I remember he was just a big white, white baby with blue eyes and a round head:-).  Matthew and he are just six weeks apart. They are like two peas in a pod. We had a great time with all of Angela's family this summer for three weeks in Idaho.  Corban has just had his first round of chemotherapy this Thursday
You are someone I would call on in time of need, so I am  asking that you pray for Corban my nephew and put out so much wonderful love and energy for his complete recovery. I have witnessed many miracles in my life, and I know prayer makes miracles happen. Thank you for being a person I can depend on:-).

Angela has a blog for all the updates, Something about being a twin; I know you love her too.

  1. So I just got a link to your blog from my mother in law. I read the entire thing. I had NO idea. I would never have known unless I read this. Can I just say wow. You are amazing. In St. George you were so fun and active and positive. I don't think I could do it! And your cute son in pain and having a hard time, rubbing MY feet! Wow. I don't know you well but I sure love what I know. Thank you for being such a great example to me and everyone around you.
